Analysing CBSE Class 10th Computer Application, IT and AI exam papers

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on March 18 held the Computer Applications, Information Technology (IT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Class 10 exams. The exams for the three papers were balanced, according to most students who appeared for the exam today. The CBSE Class 10 board exams conclude today.

The CBSE Class 10 Computer Science exam, according to Komal Dhawan, educator of Computer Science at Shiv Nadar School Noida, was well-balanced. “It combined probing and clarifying questions that allowed students to apply their understanding effectively. While some found a few CSS-based questions slightly challenging, the paper remained manageable and not lengthy. Students emerged confident and satisfied, a testament to their preparation and the learning sessions they attended throughout the year,” he said.

CBSE Class 10 IT Analysis

Ritu Pandey, IT Head, Lucknow analysed the CBSE Class 10 Information Technology (IT-402) exam as well-balanced with simple and direct questions. The recent shift from OpenOffice to LibreOffice was reflected effectively in the paper, maintaining a balanced approach, the IT Head said.

Students who practiced diligently found the paper easy to navigate. The question pattern closely adhered to the syllabus, ensuring no unexpected challenges. While a few MCQs from the Employability Skills section were slightly tricky, the subject-specific questions were straightforward and manageable. Practical and application-based questions were clear and direct. Overall, students found the exam easy and are optimistic about scoring well, Pandey added.

While analysing the Information Technology paper, Vizul Choudhary, HOD at Silverline Prestige School, Ghaziabad said: “We received positive feedback from students. Many found the paper to be easy and were able to complete it before the allotted two-hour duration. Students expressed satisfaction, noting that most questions were framed in simple language, making them easy to comprehend. Overall, the feedback indicates that the CBSE Class 10 IT exam was well-received, with many students finding it manageable and completing it ahead of time.”

Samrity Khurana, subject matter expert at Seth M.R. Jaipuria Schools, Corporate Office, Delhi said that the CBSE board paper 2025 for Information Technology – Set 4 has been thoughtfully designed to provide a comprehensive and skill-oriented assessment, ensuring students are evaluated on their conceptual clarity, practical application, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

“Aligned with the latest CBSE curriculum and assessment guidelines, the paper focuses on preparing students for the digital era by integrating real-world applications into the learning process. It was divided into two sections: Part A (Employability Skills), which enhances essential communication, self-management, ICT, entrepreneurial, and environmental awareness skills, and Part B (Subject-Specific Skills), covering digital tools, database management, and workplace safety—key competencies for future academic and career prospects,” she said while analysing the paper.

She further added: “The paper strikes a balance between accessibility and challenge, allowing students to showcase their understanding, adaptability, and problem-solving skills effectively. It emphasizes hands-on learning over rote memorization, encouraging students to apply their knowledge in practical scenarios. This structured approach reflects CBSE’s commitment to enhancing digital literacy and industry-relevant competencies, empowering students with the technical proficiency and critical thinking skills required for success in higher education.”

Savita Srivastava, TGT IT, Global Indian International School, Bangalore said that the exam went very well, with students demonstrating strong conceptual understanding and practical application of the subject.

“The overall difficulty level of the paper was moderate, with a well-balanced mix of theoretical and application-based questions. Most students found the paper to be straightforward and manageable, as it was in line with the CBSE syllabus and sample papers.”

CBSE Class 10th AI Exam Analysis

According to Dr Arti Chopra, principal, Amity International School, Sector 46, Gurugram, the Class 10 Artificial Intelligence examination for the academic year 2024-25 was a balanced mix of easy and moderate questions, designed to test students’ knowledge, understanding, and recall.

“The 2-hour examination, consisting of 50 marks, featured a diverse range of question types, including multiple-choice questions, reason-assertion questions, short answers, and long answers. While approximately 50% of the questions were easy to moderate, some required careful consideration, as similar concepts were tested in multiple questions. Student feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing satisfaction and relief upon completing the examination,” the principal added.

“Educators have also praised the examination paper, citing its ability to assess students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Overall, the Class 10 Artificial Intelligence examination has been deemed a success, providing students with a challenging yet manageable assessment of their skills and knowledge,”she said.

Analysing the CBSE Class 10 Artificial Intelligence (AI) exam, Shivansh, TGT AI, Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Shaheed Path, Lucknow said: “The paper was well-balanced and student-friendly. Overall, students found the paper easy, and many expect high scores.”
